Deployment and hosting
ZhiftERP is delivered as a managed cloud service, so there is no server for the client to maintain. Three models are commonly used: shared hosting for smaller implementations, a dedicated cloud instance for growing businesses, and dedicated infrastructure with custom development for larger groups. Backup frequency, retention and restore testing are agreed as part of the project — a backup that has never been restored is an assumption, not a control. Where internet reliability at a site is a concern, we design for it rather than discovering it at go-live.

Reporting and integration
Standard financial statements are produced by the system, and operational reporting — stock, sales, production, project and purchasing — draws on the same live data. Reports and dashboards are configurable without development in most cases. A documented REST API and webhooks support integration with payment gateways, banking feeds, e-commerce, payroll and logistics systems, and role-based permissions operate down to field level with a change audit trail.
Training and support
Training is delivered by role rather than as one generic session, because a warehouse user and a finance manager need different things. Written procedures accompany each role. After go-live we provide an agreed support window, then an optional retainer covering updates, additional configuration, report changes and periodic control review.
Limitations and dependencies
Every platform has boundaries. Knowing them before you commit is cheaper than discovering them after.
- ERP is a bigger change than swapping accounting software. Process decisions, data cleansing and management time are prerequisites, not optional extras.
- Nigerian statutory payroll and tax returns still require review by a qualified accountant. The system automates calculation; it does not replace judgement.
- Deep, vendor-specific functionality in a niche vertical may be better served by a specialist package. We will say so during selection.
- Hosting quality and connectivity affect daily use, so the deployment model is agreed as part of the project.
- The platform's published module, vertical and country figures are product specifications. They are not CloudERP client statistics.

Frequently asked questions
Is ZhiftERP suitable for a small business?
It can be, on the Starter tier, if the business has stock, purchasing or projects that a basic accounting package cannot handle. If it is a small service business invoicing a handful of clients, a lighter platform is the better and cheaper answer, and we will recommend that instead.
What does 'no per-user fees' actually mean for us?
It means cost is driven by hosting and service rather than by headcount. In practice this matters most when a business brings warehouse staff, drivers, salespeople and site supervisors into the system — on per-user platforms that decision becomes a monthly licence argument.
Can we move from ZhiftERP later if we want to?
The platform is open source under GPLv3, so the data and configuration are portable in a way that proprietary platforms generally are not. That said, migration always costs effort, so the point is that the decision stays with you rather than with a licence renewal.
How long does implementation take?
It depends on modules, entities, data quality and how quickly decisions are made. We give you a phased plan with dependencies named. A focused single-entity accounting implementation is measured in weeks; a multi-module, multi-site project in months.
Do we buy the licence from you?
Hosting and service are arranged as part of the implementation, and we set out the commercial arrangement in writing before you commit. Where a formal reseller agreement is in place we disclose it; we do not imply a partnership we do not hold.
Can it handle Nigerian VAT, withholding tax and PAYE?
The tax engine is configurable and we configure Nigerian requirements as part of implementation. Statutory returns still need review and filing by a qualified accountant — the system produces the records and calculations, not the professional judgement.
